Saturday afternoon's game between Wayland Baptist and John Brown has been designated the NAIA Network Division I Women's Basketball Game of the Week, presented by Stretch Internet.
The Flying Queens are ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, having moved up from No. 19 this week, while the Golden Eagles are No. 20.
Pending Thursday night's outcome between the Flying Queens and Bacone in Muskogee, Okla., Wayland could go into Saturday's game with a 19-2 record – including a 14-game winning streak – and a 10-1 mark in the Sooner Athletic Conference, tied for the conference lead with No. 7 Oklahoma City.
John Brown is 15-6, 7-3 going into Thursday night's home game against Southwestern Assemblies of God University. The Golden Eagles have won their last five outings.
When Wayland hosted John Brown on Jan. 7 in Plainview, the Flying Queens rolled over the Golden Eagles, then ranked No. 18, 100-72. Senior
Jade Jones scored 46 points in the win – just three short of matching the all-time program record – and later was named NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Player of the Week.
