Due to wintry weather, the Pioneer baseball team's weekend series against Peru State, Neb., has been altered.
Instead of playing a four-game series, the Pioneers and Bobcats will play three games, starting with a doubleheader at noon Saturday followed by a single, nine-inning game at noon Sunday.
After winning their first eight games of the season for their best start since 2004, the Pioneers own a 10-2 record. They lead the NAIA with 29 home runs and rank fifth in homers per game (2.4).
Peru State is 1-4 on the season, winning their last game over Avila, Mo., 12-2, after being swept by Friends, Kan.
