Former Wayland Baptist Pioneer standout
J.J. Culver was selected in the second round of the recent draft by the Houston Push of The Basketball League.

Culver was taken with the 11
th pick of the second round, the 46
th overall pick.

The Basketball League is a minor professional league featuring 35 franchises across North America. It began play in 2018 as North American Premier Basketball (NAPB).

The Houston Push is a first-year franchise owned by retired NBA All-Star Steve Francis.

TBL will begin its fourth season on April 9 and, according to the league, is known as "a showcase league as many participants go on to play in other leagues around the world."

Culver was a two-time NAIA First Team All-American for the Pioneers in 2019 and 2020. He was the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2018-19 and in four years scored 1,925 points to rank fifth on the Pioneers' all-time scoring list.
