Doubleheader with MACU moved to new venue

Wayland Baptist's doubleheader on Sunday with Mid-America Christian, scheduled to start at 1 p.m., will be played at Tuttle High School, some 20 miles outside of Oklahoma City. The move was made due to playing issues at MACU'seld brought about by rainy weather.

Because of the venue change, no live streaming will be available. Stats will be available here.

Wayland's final Sooner Athletic Conference series has been plagued by weather-related issues. The normal Friday doubleheader/Saturday single-game format first was switched to a single game Saturday and a doubleheader Sunday. Whether the Pioneers and Evangels play a third game is in doubt because MACU was already scheduled to play Monday at Dallas Christian.

Wayland takes a 22-22 overall record and a 6-12 league mark into the series while MACU is 21-20, 8-10. The Evangels stand fifth in the SAC standings while the Pioneers are sixth.

The games are the last scheduled contests of the regular-season for Wayland prior to the SAC Tournament set for May 7-10 hosted by Oklahoma City University and Science & Arts in Chickasha, Okla.
