Ashley Bauler, a 2018 Lubbock home school grad, is an infielder while Jenea Compean, a 2021 Coronado High School grad, is a utility player. Compean earned all-district first-team honors for the Mustangs.

The Pioneers have signed 15 players. Previous signees are Cami Velasquez of Dumas; Hilda "Tiggy" Rayos of Odessa; Maddy Martinez, Alexis Lopez, Aaleah Rodriguez, Cloe DeLeon, Samantha Briones and Mikayla Carrillo, all of Plainview; Clarissa Rejino of Muleshoe; Abbey Soto of Lubbock; Adrianna Zapata-Martinez of Slaton; Galilea Perez of Morton; and Bailey Jones of Littlefield.

WBU softball will compete independently during the 2022-23 academic year before Pioneer softball joins the rest of WBU's sports in the Sooner Athletic Conference during the 2023-24 academic year.
