Santos, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound junior from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, turned in a monster weekend against the Bobcats. He wound up batting .700 (7-for-10) with eight RBIs and three home runs. He opened the scoring in game 2 of the series with a first-inning grand slam, then wrapped up the scoring with a solo shot in the sixth to give WBU an 8-0 lead. Santos forged a 1.600 slugging percentage.

It is the first SAC player of the week honor for Santos and marks the second time in three weeks for a Pioneer to be honored by the conference.
Deric Trevino was the season's first SAC Pitcher of the Week two weeks ago.
