Cooper-Jackson becomes 3-time All-American

Jenna Cooper-Jackson became the fifth Flying Queen to be named a three-time NAIA All-American when she was named today to the Honorable Mention team.

It marks the second time Cooper-Jackson earned honorable mention recognition (2019-20) and follows last season's Second Team honors. Last week, she was voted to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association NAIA Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention Team.

A 6-foot forward from Claude who ranks sixth on the Flying Queens' all-time scoring list with 1,894 points, Cooper-Jackson is a four-time All-Sooner Athletic Conference pick, including the last three on the First Team as well as SAC Newcomer of the Year in 2020.

Cooper-Jackson this season ended third in the NAIA in points (630), third in minutes played, tied for fourth in assists with 203 (6.3 per game), eighth in field goals (223-of-517), 12th in free-throw percentage (87.5) and 15th in points per game (19.7).

She led the NAIA in assists last season and finished her time at Wayland with 564 assists, likely leaving her in the top five in that category which is topped by Morgan Bennett, who logged 613 assists from 2016-20. She is the Flying Queens' most accurate free-throw shooter of all-time, hitting 86.2 percent (294-of-341).

In her four years at Wayland after transferring from Abilene Christian University, Cooper-Jackson helped the Flying Queens to a 98-18 record, three Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season championships and three SAC Tournament titles, and four NAIA National Championship qualifications.

Other three-time NAIA All-Americans for the Flying Queens are Carmen Wynn (1985-87), Sharla Harrison (1987-89), Hazel Taylor (1997-99) and the only four-time Flying Queen All-American, Kaylee Edgemon (2019-22).

Cooper-Jackson was one of four SAC players named to the 20-member Honorable Mention team, along with Kertisa Amos of Texas Wesleyan, Shy Christopher of Mid-America Christian and Tarrah Stephens of John Brown.

Cooper-Jackson was one of 57 players recognized on the NAIA Honorable Mention squad. Twelve players were named to the First Team, 12 to the Second Team and 12 to the Third team.

She was among eight Sooner Athletic Conference players recognized as NAIA All-Americans. Senior Kertisa Amos of Texas Wesleyan made the First Team and senior Tarrah Stephens of John Brown made the Second Team. Cooper-Jackson was joined on the Honorable Mention Team by sophomore Shy Christopher and junior Jaci Littell of Mid-America Christian, sophomore Lainey Morrow of Science & Arts of Oklahoma, senior Makayla Coy of Texas Wesleyan.

All of the selections were made by the All-America Committee.
