Linda Brice went for 22 points and
Emily Sigala finished one assist shy of a double-double as the Flying Queens dominated the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University (1-12, 1-9 SAC) in a Tuesday night matchup at the Hutcherson Center.
RV Wayland Baptist (13-3, 8-2 SAC) found themselves down 6-2 just under three minutes into the game, but 3-points makes by Brice, Sigala, and
Maria Ghaleb put the Queens in front 11-10 with just under four minutes remaining in the opening frame. After the Aggies regained the lead 12-11, the Flying Queens put their foot on the gas and never looked back. The Queens went on an 8-0 run capped off by two buckets by Brice to take a 19-12 lead into the second quarter.
The second quarter was all Flying Queens as they dominated the frame as they outscored the Aggies 35-2.
Linda Brice had three quick buckets within the first two minutes of the quarter to push the Queens lead to 25-12 with just under eight minutes left in the frame. The Aggies scored their one and only bucket in the second quarter with just under seven minutes remaining. The Queens pressure defense was suffocating the Aggies as they forced 9 turnovers in the second quarter alone. After that Aggie bucket, the Queens went on a 25-0 run to take a 54-14 lead into the halftime break. The Queens went 14-24 from the field in the second frame including 5-10 from 3-point range.
The Flying Queens came out of the halftime break where they ended the first half – a quick 6-0 run to take a 60-14 lead with just over eight minutes left in the quarter. A steal and layup by

Emily Sigala, and a
Linda Brice jumper gave the Queens a 54-point lead with just over two minutes remaining in the third.
The fourth quarter was all the same for the Queens as they rolled to a dominating 100-38 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State University.
Linda Brice finished with 22 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
Emily Sigala finished one assist shy of a double-double as she had 19 points, 9 assists, and shot 5-8 from 3-point range.
Taylor Houston added 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. Reining Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week
Megan Nestor added 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Maria Ghaleb finished with 9 points and 2 rebounds.
The Queens showed great patience and willingness to share the ball as they finished game with 27 assists compared to 7 turnovers.
When talking about his team's dominating win and how it can be tough to stay engaged during games like these, Coach
Jason Cooper said, "Sometimes these kinds of games are hard to stay focused, and I was really proud of our girl's intensity and effort to stay organized on offense and defense." Coach Cooper added, "Thought our defense was really solid and the second quarter was pretty amazing."
Next, the RV Wayland Baptist Flying Queens take on Central Christian College (4-11, 0-9 SAC) at the Hutcherson Center on Thursday night. Tip is set for 6:00 PM.
