Megan Nestor went for another dominate double-double and
Linda Brice added 19 points as the Flying Queens pick up another dominate Sooner Athletic Conference against Central Christian College (4-12, 0-10 SAC).
RV Wayland Baptist (14-3, 9-2 SAC) began the game by going on an 8-2 run that was capped off by
Linda Brice getting the bucket to finish a layup with just over seven minutes to go in the quarter. After Central Christian converted two free throws to make the score 11-7 in favor of the Flying Queens, the Queens rattled off another 7-0 stretch to extend their lead to 18-7 with just over three minutes until the end of the frame. The Queens took a 22- 9 lead into the second quarter.
After the Tigers cut the lead down to 24-12 early in the second quarter, the Queens made their next lopsided scoring run of 17-0 that was finished by an
Emily Sigala 3-pointer to give Wayland Baptist a 29-point lead with just under five minutes until the halftime break. The Queens took a 55-18 lead into the halftime break. The Queens high-pressure defense continued to dominate their opponents as they forced 17 first half turnovers. In the previous two games and counting this first half against Central Christian, the Queens had forced their opponents into 77 turnovers.
The Queens defense continued to dominate coming out of the halftime break as they forced Central Christian into turnovers creating fast break opportunities. The Queens held the Tigers scoreless for nearly six minutes which allowed the Queens to tack on another 11-0 run to extend the lead to 68-22 with just over three minutes left until the end of the third quarter. Two successful layups by Nestor at the end of the quarter helped the Queens take a 72-27 lead into the final frame.
After Sigala hit another 3-pointer less than two minutes into the final period, Nestor added the next five points to give the Queens a 51-point advantage over the Tigers almost halfway through the fourth. With the score at 90-36, the Queens made their final run of the game capped off by an
Alice Conely layup with just over one-minute remaining in regulation. The Flying Queens went on to win the matchup 100-41, making it three straight dominating performances at the Hutcherson Center.
Megan Nestor dominated the paint by scoring 27 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.
Linda Brice added 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Bobbie Fouquet notched 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Emily Sigala added 11 points and 6 assists.
Maria Ghaleb scored 7 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished 3 assists.
