TALLAHASSEE, FL. --- Wayland Baptist senior
Inmaculada Delgado competed at the 2025 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida. Delgado was the lone qualifier for the Pioneers and represented the school with terrific pride.
A native of Seville, Spain, Delgado placed 149
th out of 331 total athletes who participated in the meet, finishing with a time of 23:21.6. Delgado earned her way to the NAIA National Championships after placing 9
th at the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Championships.
Delgado has been the leader of the Pioneers Women's Cross Country team for the past two seasons, and she was the consensus top finisher at every event the team participated in this season.
Delgado recently was named a 2025 NAIA Fall Sport Scholar Athlete, displaying her inspiring work-ethic and perseverance in the classroom and on the course.
Delgado finished with the 6
th best individual time out of all Sooner Athletic Conference representatives, moving up three spots compared to the SAC Championships two weeks ago.
Overall, Taylor (Ind.) took home the team 2025 National Championship followed by 2
nd place Milligan (Tenn.) and 3
rd place Dordt (Iowa).
Jaynie Halterman of Taylor (Ind.) earned first place individually.
