WBU Women's Wrestling Rises to #10 in Latest NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO. --- The Wayland Baptist Women's Wrestling team has risen to #10 in the first regular season edition of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll. The Pioneers were previously ranked #13 in the preseason edition.

It's no surprise that the Pioneers made a jump in the Top 20 poll after dismantling Murray State College in their season-opening meet, 45-7, and following it up with a downright dominant performance at the 2025 Falcon Open where eight wrestlers placed 1st place in their respective weight classes.

As for the individual national rankings amongst their respective weight classes, the following Pioneers were ranked inside the Top 20:

103 – Calli Connally ranked #7
124 – Tess Barnett ranked #11
145 – Jordan Suarez ranked #2
160 – Mercy Adekuoroye ranked #4
160 – Mohagany Casel ranked #13
180 – Payton Sholander ranked #6
180 – Ambre Chevreau ranked #17

The Pioneers will return to the mat on November 21-22, 2025, when they travel to Marshall, Missouri to compete in the 2025 Missouri Valley Open.
