WBU Women's Wrestling Checks in at #5 in Updated NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO. --- The Wayland Baptist Women's Wrestling team has checked in at #5 in the third edition of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll, per the NAIA offices. The Pioneers were previously ranked #9 and rose 4 spots to join the Top 5.

12 Pioneers found themselves ranked in the Top 20 of their respective weight classes, showcasing why the team moved into the Top 5 of the team rankings. The Pioneers are 3-2 in duals this season, while they have had some outstanding performances in major tournaments earlier in the season.

The following Pioneers are ranked in the Top 20 of their respective wight classes:

• Calli Connally ranked T-7^th in 103lb class
• Mariah Dillard ranked 12^th in 117lb class
• Aleena Navarette ranked 10^th in 124lb class
• Tess Barnett ranked 15^th in 124lb class
• Madison Pena ranked 15^th in 131lb class
• Paulina Butler ranked T-20^th in 138lb class
• Jordan Suarez ranked 2^nd in 145lb class
• Mercy Adekuoroye ranked 3^rd in 160lb class
• Mohagany Casel ranked 13^th in 160lb class
• Ambre Chevreau ranked T-6^th in 180lb class
• Payton Sholander ranked 10^th in 180lb class
• Leilani Sanchez ranked 14^th in 207lb class
