Adekuoroye Named Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Women's Wrestler of the Week

Wayland Baptist's Mercy Adekuoroye has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Women's Wrestler of the Week.

Mercy won the 131 lb. weight class at the Grand View Open in Des Moines, Iowa, going a perfect 5-0 in the meet. Adekuoroye did not have an easy path as she defeated the No. 2 and No. 9 ranked wrestlers in the nation and she defeated the defending US Open Champion in the finals. Adekuoroye had two decisions and two pinfalls on her way to winning her weight class.
