Polanco Garners 2025 SAC Baseball Player of the Year Honors, Weldon Earns SAC Coach of the Year

Oklahoma City --- Senior Felix Polanco has been named the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Year, Todd Weldon has earned Coach of the Year, and four others receive All-Conference recognition after leading the Pioneers to the first SAC Baseball Championship in program history.
 
A native of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Polanco has had a stellar 2025 season. He currently owns a .434 batting average with 16 home runs, 73 RBIs, and a .798 slugging percentage. Polanco was also named a First Team All-SAC recipient.
 
During SAC play, Polanco hit .461 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs, and a .912 slugging percentage. He finished 3rd in the SAC in batting average (.434), 4th in slugging percentage (.803), 2nd in runs scored (64), 1st in hits (86), 1st in doubles (21), and 3rd in home runs (16).
 
Weldon earned SAC Coach of the Year after leading the Pioneers to a 39-17 overall record and 22-5 in SAC play, helping the Pioneers win their first SAC Championship in program history. Weldon and the Pioneers proved their doubters wrong, winning the conference championship after being picked to finish 5th in the 2025 SAC Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
Senior Delvis Claudio was named First Team All-SAC after putting up astounding numbers all season long. Claudio has a .388 batting average with 18 home runs, 56 RBIs, and a .787 slugging percentage. He finished 2nd in the SAC in runs scored (64), 5th in RBIs (56), and 2nd in home runs (18).
 
Senior Samuel Fabian received First Team All-SAC honors after hitting .371 on the season with 23 home runs, 78 RBIs, and an .874 slugging percentage. Fabian displayed great power this season as he sits in 4th in the NAIA in home runs (23). Fabian is 1st in the SAC in home runs (23), 2nd in slugging percentage (.874), 2nd in OPS (1.376), 1st in RBIs (78), and T-4th in runs scored (58).
 
Senior Juan Gil-Franco was named First Team All-SAC Reliever after transitioning to the Pioneer pen at the beginning of the season and embracing the role. Gil-Franco finished with an 11-4 record, 59.2 innings pitched, a 4.07 ERA, and 65 strikeouts. Gil-Franco led the SAC in Wins (11), 6th in saves (2), and 1st in fewest walks allowed (17).

Sophomore Sinclair Pimentel earned a Second Team All-SAC recognition after hitting .335 with 3 home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .423 on-base percentage. Pimentel finished 8th in the SAC in triples (3) and first in sacrifice flies (6).

With the Pioneers winning the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Baseball Championship, they have automatically qualified for the Opening Rounds of the 2025 NAIA Baseball Championships.
