GREENVILLE, SC. --- Flying Queens freshman
Cania Mitchell has been recognized as this week's NCCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, per the NCCAA offices.
This is the second player of the week award that the Amarillo, Texas native has earned after previously being recognized as the SAC Digital Scoreboards Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
In the Queens' two wins this week over OPSU and Central Christian, Mitchell averaged 28 ppg, 7.5 ast/g, 6.5 reb/g, and 3.0 stl/g.
In their win over OPSU, Mitchell scored a game-high 32 points on 64.7% shooting from the floor, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Mitchell followed that up with 24 points on 69.2% shooting from the floor, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in the win over Central Christian.
Mitchell and the Flying Queens will hit the road this week as they take on the Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth on Thursday, January 29
th. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
