LUBBOCK --- The Wayland Baptist men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Stan Scott Invite and Multis hosted by Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, where the battled some of the top NCAA Division 1 and NCAA Division 2 teams in the nation.
The Pioneers had great showings from multiple athletes on both the men's and women's sides. Sophomore
Mia Gray had one of the top finishes, earning 8
th place in the women's shot put out of 13 competitors with a furthest toss of 12.53m.
Gray also claimed 4
th place in the women's weight throw with a longest throw of 11.82m.
Senior
Inmaculada Delgado took home 4
th place in the women's mile with a time of 5:33.83. She finishes behind the first place finisher from Texas Tech and two other podium recipients from UTEP.
Edmundo Avalos earned 3
rd place in the men's shot put with a throw of 12.72m. Avalos also earned 3
rd place in the men's weight throw with a farthest toss of 14.51m.
Junior
Ethan Jonason brought home 8
th place in the men's mile with a time of 4:44.19.

th, where they will compete in the UNM Team Open.
