Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — After dropping the first two games of this weekend's series, the Wayland Baptist Pioneers showed heart and determination in Saturday's Game 3 matchup on the road at Oklahoma City University. Despite falling behind early, WBU's offense kept chipping away and ultimately delivered the victory to split the series heading home.
The Pioneers struck first in the top of the 1st inning, as Sinclair Pimentel delivered a clutch RBI double to get WBU on the board. Wayland continued to battle offensively, adding runs in the 3rd and 5th innings behind key hits from Adonis Bernal, Rafaeleduardo Garcia, and others. The Pioneer bats worked consistently against a tough Oklahoma City pitching staff, finishing the game with 8 hits and showcasing timely base running throughout.
