The Pioneer men's basketball team finished their most successful season in years after finishing second in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament and returning to the NAIA National Tournament. The Pioneers ended the season 23-11 and were ranked 22nd in the final coaches poll.

Markus Monroe was second in the conference in scoring, averaging 21.42 points per game and was named a 3rd Team NAIA All-American and 1st Team All-SAC. Point guard Travis Payton was second in the conference in assists with 188 and was named to the All-SAC Honorable Mention team.
