Josiah Olvera of Riesel, Texas, has signed to compete for the Wayland Baptist men's track & field program.
"We're excited to add Josiah," WBU coach
Brian Whitlock said. "He ran at the state meet on the 4x4. I met one of his coaches in the stands that told me about him and we watched him and liked what we saw. The coach I met was (current Pioneer)
Donte Irving's coach, and Donte enjoyed Wayland and had a good career here."
Olvera will look to contribute to the Pioneers' 4x4 and 4x8 teams next year. He will major in accounting.
The Pioneers are rated No. 5 in the NAIA by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
