Wayland Baptist men's golf coach
Tom Harp has signed his first recruit of the year, Sacha Brendle of Benfeld, France.
Brendle will graduate high school in June and plans to major in sports management or business.
On the course, he owns a French golf ranking of 138 and a scratch world ranking of 2,744. He recorded seven top-12 finishes in a dozen tournaments last season.
"We're very excited about Sacha joining us," Harp said. "He is a very talented young man with great fundamentals. He has lots of high-level tournament experience and will make an impact immediately."
The Pioneers, ranked No. 5 in the NAIA, open the spring season Feb. 20 at the San Antonio Shootout.
