Wayland Baptist's
Alex Spencer and
Cole Rubac have been named 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Track & Field Scholar-Athletes.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at their current institution.
Spencer and Rubac both are senior distance runners who also earned scholar-athlete recognition in cross country last fall. Spencer, who is major in computer science, is from Lubbock and Rubac, a business administration major, is from Mansfield.
The NAIA track & field list features 805 student-athletes.
