Marissa Armendariz Named NCCAA Women's Golfer of the Week

The NCCAA has announced that Pioneer freshman Women's Golfer, Marissa Armendariz has earned this week's NCCAA Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week award for her efforts in the Chicken Express Classic last week.
 
A native of Dallas, Texas, Armendariz earned a second-place finish in the Chicken Express Classic hosted by Wayland Baptist at the Plainview Country Club after shooting rounds of 77-77-78-232. Armendariz finished the tournament with two birdies and 34 pars.
 
Armendariz held a one stroke lead heading into the final round, but eventually fell by two strokes. Armendariz was also named to the All-Tournament team after her outstanding play.
 
This is the first NCCAA Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week award for the Pioneers this season, and the first Player of the Week honor for Armendariz in her young career.
