COHUTTA, GA. --- The Wayland Baptist women's golf team traveled East to compete in the 2026 Lady Roadrunner Spring Invite hosted by Dalton State College, taking 14
th place against many of the top ranked teams in the NAIA.
The Pioneers earned 14
th after scoring 345-329-339-1013 across three rounds of play. As a team, the Pioneers scored 14 Birdies and 92 Pars.
Marissa Armendariz was the top finisher for the Pioneers, earning a tie for 49
th place with scores of 84-78-83-245. She finished the tournament with three Birdies and 23 Pars.
Isabelle Victoria Soh finished just behind Armendariz in a tie for 59
th after shooting 78-83-88-249 across three rounds. Soh led the Pioneers in Birdies with five while also scoring 21 Pars.
Juanita Villafane finished in a tie for 62
nd with scores of 90-82-78-250, showing strong improvement as the tournament progressed. Villafane scored four Birdies to go along with 21 Pars.
Ellen Lonergan earned 78
th place with scores of 93-86-90-269 across three rounds of golf. Lonergan scored one Birdie and 19 Pars.
Avery Lodes finished just behind Lonergan in 83
rd place with rounds of 94-99-99-292. Lodes also scored one Birdie to go along with eight Pars.
The Pioneers will now begin preparation for the 2026 SAC Women's Golf Championships that are set to be played on April 20-21, 2026 at The Territory GC in Duncan, Oklahoma.
