AMARILLO, TX. --- The Wayland Baptist women's golf team hosted the Top of Texas Invitational in Amarillo where they claimed third place overall.
Isabelle Victoria Soh brought home 5
th place individually and earned All-Tournament Team honors.
A freshman from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Soh was the top individual performer for the Pioneers this week. She earned All-Tournament honors after a fifth place finish where she scored 74-80-80-234. Soh was one of the best players in the tournament on Par 3s, finishing with an average of 3.25 shots per Par 3. Soh scored four Birdies and 28 Pars during the event.
Juanita Villafane had a strong final round that propelled her to 13
th place overall. She finished with rounds of 86-86-76-248. Villafane showed great poise on Par 5s and finished tied for 3
rd in lowest scoring on Par 5s, shooting an average of 5.00 shots per Par 5. Villafane scored four Birdies and 26 Pars across three rounds of play.
Marissa Armendariz finished right behind Villafane in 14
th place after scores of 88-83-78-249, showing strong improvement as the tournament progressed. Across three rounds of play, Armendariz scored three Birdies and 22 Pars.
Ellen Lonergan finished in 17
th place after scores 88-79-89-256. Lonergan also scored three Birdies and 19 Pars during the tournament.
Avery Lodes earned 28
th place after scoring 95-98-99-292. Lodes scored 11 Pars across three rounds of play.
As a team, the Pioneers brought home 3
rd place out of the six-team field, finishing with team scores of 336-328-323-987. Across three rounds of play, the Pioneers scored 14 Birdies and 106 Pars.
The Pioneers will return to action on March 16-17, 2026, when they travel to Oklahoma City to compete in the 2026 Kyle Blaser Invitational hosted by Oklahoma City University at Gaillardia CC.
