PLAINVIEW, TX – Wayland Baptist Women's Golf hosted the Chicken Express Classic at Plainview CC and claimed 4
th place, while freshman
Isabelle Victoria Soh earned an 8
th place finish individually.
The Pioneers earned 4
th place out of 5 teams after finishing with team scores of 316-305-300-921. As a team, the Pioneers scored one Eagle, 11 Birdies, and 148 Pars across three rounds of play.
Soh earned the 8
th place finish after shooting 73-71-75-219 over three rounds. Soh finished the tournament in a tie for 5
th on Par 5 scoring, finishing with a final score of -3 under Par and an average of 4.67 shots per Par 5. She scored the Pioneers' lone Eagle, while also totaling four Birdies and 37 Pars (4
th most in the field).
Sophomore
Ellen Lonergan earned 15
th place after scoring 78-76-75-229. Lonergan finished with three Birdies and 34 Pars (8
th most in the field).
Marissa Armendariz finished just behind Lonergan in 19
th place after finishing with scores of 82-77-77-236. After three rounds of play, Armendariz scored two Birdies and 30 Pars.
Villafane finished one position behind Armendariz in 20
th place with scores of 84-81-73-238. Villafane catapulted up the leaderboard after her terrific third round. She finished the tournament with two Birdies and 31 Pars.
Freshman
Avery Lodes finished tied for 27
th with scores of 87-86-85-258. Lodes finished the event with 16 Birdies.

The Pioneer Women's Golf squad will now begin preparation for the 2025 NCCAA Women's Golf Championships that are set to take place from October 20-22 in Palm Harbor, Florida at the Beach Hammock Resort Conservatory Course. It will be the program's first appearance at the NCCAA Women's Golf Championships.
