Pioneers Finish as Runner Up at 2025 NCCAA Men's Golf National Championships, Lebrun and Brendle Place Top 10

PALM HARBOR, FL – Wayland Baptist Men's Golf finishes as the runner up at the 2025 NCCAA Men's Golf National Championships. Juniors Leonard Lebrun and Sacha Brendle each finish in the Top 10 to earn NCCAA Men's Golf All-American honors.

The Pioneers finished the three round championship with a team score of 297-296-298-891, ending the event in second place behind OUAZ. The Pioneers, who had won back-to-back NCCAA Men's Golf National Championships, concluded the tournament with four Eagles (most in the field), 36 Birdies, and 159 Pars.

Junior Leonard Lebrun finished the tournament in 6th place with final scores of 76-72-70-218. Lebrun's 6th place finish earned him NCCAA All-American honors for the second time in his career. Lebrun tied for 2nd in Par 3 scoring after finishing -1 under Par and averaging 2.92 shots per Par 3. Over three rounds of golf, Lebrun scored nine Birdies and 35 Pars.

Junior Sacha Brendle finished in a tie for 8th place after shooting 75-72-75-222 across three rounds of play. Like Lebrun, Brendle earned his second straight NCCAA All-America award after finishing in the Top 10. Brendle was outstanding Par 5s and finished with a final score of -1 under Par while averaging 4.92 shots per Par 5. He finished with an Eagle, eight Birdies, and 32 Pars.

Sophomore Nino Mahy finished just outside the Top 10 in a tie for 12th place after scoring 71-78-76-225 over three rounds of golf. Mahy tied for the second lowest score per Par 5, finishing with a final score of -3 under Par and averaging 4.75 shots per Par 5. Mahy led the field in Eagles with three, while also scoring eight Birdies and 28 Pars.

Sophomore Etienne Bocquillon had a solid showing and earned a tie for 19th place after scoring 75-74-78-227 across three rounds of action. Bocquillon scored four Birdies and 38 Pars (4th in the field).

Freshman Bodee Bratcher ended in a tie for 30th place with scores of 79-80-77-236. Across three rounds of play, Bratcher scored seven Birdies and 26 Pars.

The Pioneers will resume their 2025-2026 season on February 23-24, 2026, when they travel to Prosper, Texas to compete in the Friends Invitational hosted by Friends University.
