Lubbock, Tex. --- The Pioneer Women's Golf Team hosted the Top of Texas Invitational this week at the Lake Ridge GC in Lubbock, Texas, and they finished the competition in third place as a team.
Juanita Villafane,
Ellen Lonergan, and
Marissa Armendariz each placed in the Top 5 individually.

Wayland Baptist secured a third-place finish at the Top of Texas Invitational after scoring three rounds of 381-357-375-1113. Southwestern Christian took home first-place (350-343-347-1040) and University of the Southwest earned second-place (353-344-358-1055).

Villafane was the Women's Top of Texas Invitational Runner-Up after scoring rounds of 75-80-86-241. Villafane finished her three rounds with six Birdies and 24 Pars. Villafane was named to the All-Tournament Team after her great showing.

Lonergan had another good outing for the Pioneers, securing a third-place finish after scoring rounds of 81-79-85-245. Lonergan earned All-Tournament Team after scoring four Birdies and 25 Pars.

Armendariz rounded out the Top 5 after scoring rounds of 84-85-82-251. Armendariz finished the event with five Birdies and 22 Pars, while also earning All-Tournament Team recognition.

Emme Wilson finished in 17
th after rounds of 141-113-122-376. Wilson scored one Birdie and three Pars during the tournament.

The Pioneer Women's Golf squad will take the course again on Monday, March 17
th and Tuesday, March 18
th when they travel to Oklahoma City to compete in the Blaser Invitational hosted by 10
th ranked Oklahoma City University.
