Gordon Claims SAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week Award

Oklahoma City – Matthew Gordon of Wayland Baptist University has been named this week's Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Gordon, a sophomore from Guyana, won the 800-meter run at the West Texas A&M Jo Meaker Classic & Multi. Gordon's time of 1:51.50 was the best of 25 other contestants, all from NCAA Division II or JUCO schools.  His time is the fifth fastest in the NAIA this spring.
