WICHITA FALLS, KS – The Wayland Baptist Women's Golf team completely dominated Central Christian on their way to winning the NCCAA Women's Golf Central Regional Championship, earning them a qualifying bid into the 2025 NCCAA Women's Golf National Championships in Palm Coast, Florida.
As a team, the Pioneers scored 324-306-630, while Central Christian finished with scores of 349-363-712, giving the Pioneers the lopsided win. Four Pioneers finished in the Top 4, while all five players earned Top 7 finishes.
Freshman
Isabelle Victoria Soh took home the individual title after finishing with scores of 79-74-153.
Sophomore
Ellen Lonergan finished just behind Soh in 2
nd place with scores of 80-75-155.
Marissa Armendariz earned the 3
rd place finish with scores of 80-78-158.
Juanita Villafane finished behind Armendariz in a tie for 4
th place, finishing with scores of 85-79-164.
Avery Lodes earned a tie for 7
th place after shooting 92-87-179.
With the win, Wayland Baptist qualifies for the 2025 NCCAA Women's Golf National Championships that are set to take place from October 22
nd through October 25
th in Palm Coast, Florida at the Hammock Beach Resort.
Before that, the Pioneers will travel to Hobbs, New Mexico to compete in the Battle in the Desert beginning Monday, September 29
th through Tuesday, September 30
th.
