WICHITA, Kan. --- The Wayland Baptist men's and women's track and field teams had a strong showing at the 2026 Friends University First Chance Qualifier, highlighted by first place finishes from
Mia Gray (women's shot put) and
Ryder Robison (men's 3000m).

MEN'S RESULTS
Sophomore
Ryder Robison earned his first win of the season in the 3000m run with a final time of 9:23.06. The sophomore overcame 18 other runners in the field to capture the victory.
Senior
Case Drum earned 2
nd place in the 400m with a time of 50.65. The 400m race had 45 runners compete, displaying the excellence shown by Drum to earn second place.
Some other notable finishes on the men's side include:
- Edmundo Avalos earning 4th place in the shot put with a throw of 14.57m.
- Lonnie Irving Jr taking 5th place in the triple jump with a distance of 13.35m.
- Marcus McLemore earned 6th place in the triple jump with a distance of 13.32m.
- Anthony Willis took 7th place in the long jump with a distance of 6.55m.
- Ethan Jonason took 6th place in the 800m with a time of 2:06.48.
- Drum, Branden Brown, Jesus Zubia, and Austin Reeves earned 6th place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:36.23.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Sophomore
Mia Gray was terrific in the shot put and earned her first victory of the season after having a toss of 13.09m. The Sunray, Texas native defeated 18 other competitors in the event.
Freshman
Letticia Campbell brought home third place in the long jump with a distance of 5.00m. Campbell showed off her versatility by also taking 12
th place in the 400m run with a time of 1:05.99.
