ROCKY FACE, GA. – The 16
th ranked Wayland Baptist men's golf team brought home a tie for 10
th at the 2026 Roadrunner Classic hosted by Dalton State College, competing against multiple top ranked teams in the NAIA.
The Pioneers earned a tie for 10
th after scoring 296-313-310-919 over three rounds of golf. As a team, the Pioneers scored one Eagle+ (a hole-in-one), 36 Birdies, and 132 Pars.
Nino Mahy and
Sacha Brendle were the top finishers for the Pioneers, each coming in a tie for 22
nd place overall.
Mahy finished tied for 22
nd in the three round tournament with rounds of 76-75-75-226. Mahy scored nine Birdies and 30 Pars.
Brendle shot rounds of 71-78-77-226 to earn the tie for 22
nd. Brendle was one of the top players on Par 3s, averaging 2.92 shots per Par 3 which was tied for second lowest in the field (-1 under Par). Brendle scored a hole-in-one on hole 8 during round two. He also scored seven Birdies and 30 Pars.
Leonard Lebrun finished just behind Mahy and Brendle in a tie for 29
th with rounds of 71-80-77-228. Lebrun ended the tournament with a team-high 10 Birdies and 28 Pars.
Etienne Bocquillon ended the tournament in 59
th place with scores of 78-80-82-240. Bocquillon was one of the top players in the tournament on Par 5s, averaging 4.83 shots per Par 5 which tied for 9
th in lowest scoring on Par 5s (-2 under Par). Bocquillon scored seven Birdies and 21 Pars.
Alexandre Genet finished in 63
rd place with scores of 92-83-81-256. Genet scored three Birdies and 23 Pars over three rounds of play.
The Pioneers will begin preparations for the 2026 SAC Men's Golf Championships that are set to be played on April 20-21, 2026 at The Territory GC in Duncan, Oklahoma.
