Wintry weather forecast prompts changes to baseball schedules

A wintry weather forecast has prompted changes to the Wayland Baseball varsity and junior varsity baseball schedules this weekend.

The varsity Pioneers – 3-1 after last weekend's season-opening series at Houston-Victoria – were scheduled to play Huston-Tillotson in Austin on Friday and Saturday. Now, those two doubleheaders will be played on Saturday and Sunday, both beginning at 1 p.m.

And, the JV Pioneers will open their season with a twin bill at Midland College. But instead of playing those two games Friday, they now will be played Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
