OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Wayland Baptist Pioneer Football team has been projected to finish in 7
th in the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Football Preseason Coaches' Poll, per the SAC offices.
Head Coach
Marcos Hinojos Sr. and the Pioneers are coming off a 2024 campaign that saw tremendous growth within the program. They finished with a 4-6 overall record and 3-5 in SAC play.
2024 SAC Champions, Texas Wesleyan, have been picked to win the conference again in 2025, while OUAZ and Langston round out the Top 3 projected finishers for the upcoming season.

The Pioneers will host four regular season Sooner Athletic Conference games during the 2025 season, while also playing five games on the road. The 2025 road schedule will be a tough slate for the Pioneers this year as they take on Texas Wesleyan, OUAZ, and Louisiana Christian all on the road.
The first home game for the Pioneers won't take place until Saturday, September 27
th against Texas College. Kick-off for the home opener is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
