GREENVILLE, SC. --- Wayland Baptist sophomore
Mia Gray has been recognized as this week's NCCAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
A native of Sunray, Texas, Gray earned her first victory of the season at the 2026 Friends University First Chance Qualifier in the shot put after finishing with a distance of 13.09m on her best toss.
Gray was named a 2025 First Team All-SAC recipient, while also taking home SAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors once.
Gray and the Pioneers track and field team will return to action on January 16
th and 17
th when they compete in the 2026 Corky Classic hosted by Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
