Gray Named SAC Digital Scoreboards Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY --- Wayland Baptist sophomore Mia Gray has been recognized as this week's SAC Digital Scoreboards Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, per the Sooner Athletic Conference offices.

Gray, a native of Sunray, Texas, competed in the 2026 Friends University First Chance Qualifier this past weekend where she took home first place in the shot put with a best distance of 13.09m.

The first place finish was Gray's first victory of the season, taking down 17 other competitors in the event.

Gray was also recognized as this week's NCCAA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week recipient.

The Pioneers will next compete in the 2026 Corky Classic hosted by Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas on January 16^th and 17^th.
