As the Pioneers opened Sooner Athletic Conference play with two double-overtime road matches, Hector Romero and Samba Gnokane led Wayland to a 3-3 tie with Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth followed by a 2-1 win over John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Both Hector and Samba scored in both matches, and Hector was credited with an assist on Samba's thrilling, game-winning, double-overtime header in the 103^rd minute against JBU.

Samba leads the Pioneers with seven goals on the season, while Hector has three in his four games.
