Roman helped the Pioneers to a pair of wins over Mid-America Christian at home, 2-1, and on the road against Southwestern Assemblies of God, 1-0. The 5-foot senior defender from Fort Worth, in her third season at Wayland after transferring from Tyler Junior College, scored her team-leading eighth goal against MACU then recorded her third assist, which ties for the team lead, against SAGU.Â
Roman, an All-SAC Second Team pick last season, has 18 career goals, the fourth-most in program history. She and the Pioneers (8-4-1, 4-2-1 SAC) are in third place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. With two matches left in the regular-season, the Pioneers’ eight wins already are the third-most in the history of the program.
