Johannes, a sophomore from Germany, won the individual title and led the 11th-ranked men’s golf team to its first victory in 2½ years at the Mid-South Classic in Newton, Kan.
Johannes, who won the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament title last season as a freshman, shot rounds of 71-69-69 for a 7-under 209 at Sand Creek Station Golf Course as he posted a four-shot win.
"I was really excited for Joe winning another individual tournament," coach Tom Harp said. "Three rounds in a row under par is phenomenal."
Johannes and he Pioneers shot 290-281-280 for a 13-under 851 total, a whopping 21 strokes over runner-up Oklahoma City University, ranked third in the NAIA.
