Zane, a freshman from Amarillo, finished in 14th place and helped the golf team to a major victory at The Invite at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Fla.
Zane shot rounds of 80-76-68 for an 11-over 224 total. His final-round 3-under 68, which featured five birdies, was the best score of the day by three strokes and shot him 14 places up the leaderboard.
"This is a tough PGA course that can be intimidating, but (Zane) handled it well and shot one of the lower rounds we've seen out here," coach Tom Harp said. "Zane was a huge part of us winning the tournament."

The field of 45 golfers featured nine teams, eight that were ranked or receiving votes in last spring’s NAIA Top 25 including Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 10.
The team win was Wayland's second straight this fall after the Pioneers claimed the Andrews Invitational and after tying for second at the season-opening Mid-South Classic in Kansas. Dating back to last year, WBU has won five of its last eight tournaments.
