Soh Wins Individual NCCAA Women's Golf National Championship, Pioneers Finish as Runner Up

PALM HARBOR, FL – Freshman Isabelle Victoria Soh takes home the individual title at the NCCAA Women's Golf National Championships after scoring two clutch Birdies to take over the lead for good, while Wayland Baptist finishes as the runner-up in their first appearance at the event in program history.

The Pioneers finished in second place behind Bethel (IN), who have won four of the past five NCCAA Women's Golf National Championships. Wayland Baptist finished the three round tournament with scores of 317-336-315-968. As a team, the Pioneers scored 16 Birdies and 116 Pars.

A native of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Soh had a career week after earning the individual NCCAA Women's Golf National Championship. Soh ended the tournament with three round scores of 73-79-75-227. Soh finished with the lowest score on Par 4s, scoring +2 and averaging 4.07 shots per Par 4. She wrapped up her championship performance with 7 Birdies (T-1st in the field) and 31 Pars (T-2nd in the field).

With the win, Soh earned NCCAA Women's Golf All-American honors – her first All-American award in her young career.

Ellen Lonergan earned a tie for 14th place after scoring 78-86-79-243 across three rounds of golf. Lonergan performed her best on Par 3s, finishing with the ninth lowest score (+3) and averaged 3.25 shots per Par 3. She ended the tournament with two Birdies and 27 Pars.

Marissa Armendariz finished just behind Lonergan in a tie for 19th place with final scores of 82-86-80-248. Armendariz was terrific on Par 3s and finished T-6th in lowest score (+2) while averaging 3.17 shots per Par 3. Armendariz scored four Birdies and 23 Pars across three rounds of play.

Juanita Villafane finished a few spots behind Armendariz in a tie for 22nd place with scores of 84-85-81-250. Villafane ended the championship tournament with two Birdies and 23 Pars.

Avery Lodes ended the tournament in 33rd place after shooting 103-94-87-284, showing solid improvement after each round. Lodes scored a Birdie and 12 Pars across three rounds.

The Pioneers will resume their 2025-2026 season in the Spring semester with their first tournament coming on February 23-24, 2026 when they travel to Prosper, Texas to compete in the Friends Invitational.
