VICTORIA, TX. --- The Wayland Baptist women's golf team opened their 2026 Spring season by competing in the Claud Jacobs Invitational hosted by Texas A&M-Victoria. Three Pioneers placed in the Top 10 of the individual standings.
Ellen Lonergan and
Isabelle Victoria Soh were the two highest finishers for the Pioneers as they ended up in a tie for 8
th place. Lonergan scored rounds of 84-83-167, while Soh ended with scores of 81-86-167.
Across two rounds of play, Lonergan two Birdies and 16 Pars, while Soh scored three Birdies and 14 Pars.
Juanita Villafane finished in 10
th place after scoring 83-85-168. She ended the tournament with two Birdies and 14 Pars.
Avery Lodes came in 19
th place after shooting 95-105-200. She scored a Birdie and four Pars throughout the tournament.
Up next, the Pioneers will host the Top of Texas Invitational on March 9-10 in Amarillo, Texas.
