OKLAHOMA CITY – Wayland Baptist snag two Sooner Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week Awards this week dominating Arkansas Baptist 45-8 for the fifth straight victory.
Isaiah Brooks earned SAC Defensive Player of the Week and
Isaac Olmos earned SAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
A native of Little Elm, Texas, Brooks was named SAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after anchoring a Pioneer defense that only allowed 8 points this weekend. Brooks finished the game with 13 total tackles, a sack, two fumble recoveries, and multiple forced fumbles.
Olmos, a native of Friona, Texas, earned the SAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week award after dominating in the Pioneer punt game despite playing in a torrential downpour. Olmos finished the game with seven total punts for 257 yards, placing two inside the 20-yard line and crushing one over 50 yards in distance.
The Pioneers will return home on November 1
st, 2025, when they host Nelson University for Senior Day. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM at Greg Sherwood Memorial Bulldog Stadium here in Plainview.
