PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – The Wayland Baptist Women's Golf team competed against a loaded field in the 2025 Seahawk Shootout hosted by #1 Keiser University, where they claimed a 12
th place team finish.
Across the three-round tournament, the Pioneers scored 328-335-338-1001, giving them 12
th place. The Pioneers finished with 14 Birdies and 97 Pars, while also scoring the 5
th lowest team average score on Par 3s, finishing with an average of 3.39 shots per Par 3.
#1 Keiser took home the team championship (302-308-299-909), #4 Marian (IN) finished as the runners-up (302-312-310-924), and #6 Dalton State claimed 3
rd place (307-311-308-926).
Juanita Villafane paced the Pioneers by scoring 78-84-82-244, good enough for a tie for 46
th place. Villafane was solid on Par 5s, ending the tournament with a total score of +1 and an average of 5.08 shots per Par 5. Villafane totaled three Birdies and 29 Pars.
Isabelle Victoria Soh finished in a tie for 61
st after scoring 82-81-88-251 across three rounds of play. Soh ended the tournament with four Birdies and 23 Pars.
Marissa Armendariz finished one shot behind Soh, putting her in a tie for 65
th place after scoring 83-83-86-252. Armendariz scored three Birdies and 21 Pars across three rounds.
Ellen Lonergan finished in a tie for 68
th place after scoring 85-87-82-254. Lonergan finished with four Birdies and 18 Pars.

The Pioneers will return to the course on September 29

th when they travel to Hobbs, New Mexico to compete in the Battle in the Desert hosted by the University of the Southwest (NM).
